ICUIMC 2008 at Suwon, Korea
Jeff has attended the Second International Conference on Ubiquitous Information Management and Communication (ICUIMC 2008) at Suwon, Korea. He presented his paper entitled "Finding Repetitive Patterns in 3D Human Motion Captured Data" that was co-authored with Dr. Howard Leung, Dr. Taku Komura and Hubert Shum. It was great to share our research experiences with top experts and learn about the latest ubiquitous computing technologies.
[30 Jan. 2007] We arrived at the Ibis Seoul Hotel in the afternoon and we went to the restaurant in the hotel for dinner. After dinner we visited the Hyundai department store. Because the Lunar New Year was coming, many staff wore Hanbok, which is the traditional Korean costume.
[31 Jan. 2007] In the morning of the first day of the conference, we learnt about the history of the host university, Sung Kyun Kwan University and its latest development in education and research. At lunch, we dined at the student canteen for some local food.
[1 Feb. 2007] In the second day of the conference, we have given presentations
and discussed our work with other experts. We also learnt from others many
interesting and latest technologies in ubiquitous computing.
In the evening, we joined the local tour and visited the Insadong (仁寺洞) which is a famous shopping area for traditional Korean stuff. We then have dinner at Yongsusan (龍水山) Korean Restaurant to taste some traditional Korean cuisine. It is one of the top Korean restaurant in the world and the food is very nice!
